About Perfect (Ninn)
Nestled somewhere between 'The Matrix' and 'Blade Runner', Michael Ninn's futuristic thriller PERFECT tells of a cop who hunts down androids in the year 2034. But any further attempts to follow either the plot or the sex scenes prove futile. It's best if one just surrenders to the onrush of dazzling MTV-style images that send the story spinning into sci-fi overdrive.
PERFECT's leading lady Jodie Moore stars in many scenes that include conventional 1-on-1 fucking as well as some lesbo, three-way and DP action. But the real attraction here is in fact Michael Ninn's very own bag of visual tricks, from slo-mo photography to dissolves, color filters etc. Prior to its release, Ninn made some heads turn when he announced that he was going to use the so-called 'bullet time' effects made famous by the blockbuster hit 'The Matrix'. Indeed that's what he delivers in PERFECT but on a visibly smaller scale (and budget) than the Hollywood blockbuster (which makes the results look rather more incidental).
The DVD comes in letterbox format with several audio tracks, including the English production sound (though most of the time Ninn sacrifices his performers' grunts and moans for the benefit of a rock soundtrack).
Extras are plentiful and include a 'teasing clip' with Jodie Moore and 'behind the scenes' footage (82 minutes) on an additional DVD.

Michael Ninn flexes his FX department muscles and the results are impressive, to say the least. The cast leaves nothing to be desired either. So why does the movie fail in the end? Mostly because it doesn't have enough sex scenes in it. And precious few of them are even played out. The FX clearly take center stage, which is unique (even in a Ninn-directed movie). But the never-ending onslaught of CGI imagery is simply too exhausting. I love eye candy as much as the guy next to me but when I feel like watching a porn movie, PERFECT is far from the perfect choice.

A futuristic story filled with special effects and great performances. Though the sex scenes are not as thrilling as they could be, the viewer gets rewarded for his stamina with a spectacular showdown. Excellent couple-friendly fare.
